re: ski gear

Pretty much 6 of ,1 half a dozen of the other. The UK is now pretty cheap to by kit when compared to other EU countries.
The problem now is that most shops will be charging full price for the start of the season.
The only brand that is not that comon in Bulgaria is Volkl. Whatever ski you buy you really need to demo first so I would wait till you're out there, hunt around and ride skis as many as posible then see if you can get a deal.

re: ski gear

last year I was in bansko at the end of the seasons paid £60 for my boots in the sale, back home same boots were £185 so got a real bargin, but in pamps at christmas the boots werent that cheap but it is the beggining of the season, so could depend on when you go. I think the snow shack in pamps has some good offers, think the guys name is steve does come on this sight from time to time so may give you a rough idea of cheapest to most expensive.

re: ski gear

steve
thought you just wanted poles then read again and saw it was skis and poles.
I got my skis here as they were cheaper than bansko most in bansko were about 750 leve plus bindings which seemed vary quiet a bit, there is a ski hire place opposite the gondla which hires out skis as well as sells them you could try there, I got mine in castleford cost £200 down form about £400 but that was at the end of the season, you could demo them there as well if they have any in the make you want.
