Just a quick one to ask whether there is such a thing as a 1 day lift pass? I am going with the family, some of us skiing, other just enjoying the nice break. We are looking to do 3 or 4 days skiing, and was wondering how much it would be to rent skies (on a daily bases), purchase lift pass and maybe get a private lesson?
Staying at Rila, apparently the hotel is right on the slopes.... quite literally by the looks of it. 55 levs is not too bad at all Niki.
Would be interesting to know how much it ould be to rent the gear, if it works out quite dear then I can see myself booking through the operator before I go. £150 but you have to committ yourself to 6 days.
If we wanted to ski 2 or 3 days would like to know how much the lift passes would be (or if you can even get 2-3 day lift passes) and how much ...

If we wanted to ski 2 or 3 days would like to know how much the lift passes would be (or if you can even get 2-3 day lift passes) and how much the hire of equipment would be. Not too bothered about tution, just want to go and enjoy myself for a couple of days.
If anybody can suggest anything that would be great. Lets just hope that we get some nice cold temps and get a dump of snow in the next 2 weeks. first timer here
have just returned from Borevets and bought a half day pass (from 12.00) for 28 levs for me and 13 for grand daughter-it gave us a good 4 hours of sking without queuing at 9.00 a.m-you can purchase at 4 man chair lift in front of Rila or at the gondola.
Thats great thelma, So I think I will be looking at 28levs for my lift pass per day, and I would really like to know how much the hire of the equipment would be as well as some tutorial. Is that from 12.00 midday till evening?
I know im doing this the expensive way, but I dont think buying the package would be worthwhile. I think we will be skiing 4 out of the 7 days. So renting the equipment, buying 1 day passses (daily) or possible a 3-4 day lift pass and maybe getting some private ...

There are a lot of places renting equipment-you could e mail the Alpin hotel (small hotel opposite Rila on the slopes) as they have a ski store from which you can ski to and from the slopes and no queuing(they also help you on and off with boots etc)-also a ski place at the side/back of Royal Plaza apartments which are halfway between the Rila and Gondola -we found a way to the Gondola without going down the road-take 4 man chair in front of Rila and get onto blue run -towards the bottom ...

Alpin also have a couple of instructors-again you could e mail them or phone (they have a web site)
In Bansko the one day skipass costs 40 levs and in the afternoon it seems to be less. There is no much different in the end whether you choose one day at the time or immediately two days period. Same thing with the equipment, except that it's not very nice to start every morning at the rental center.
Then if you rent a full equipment package you can get 10% off on skipass, or if you first buy the skipass, you can get 10% off on equipment.

Today was our first ski day in Bansko. Suprisingly good snow situation and nice slopes. A bit too windy though and the hailstorm wasn't very nice..
The information that your giving me Tuula is a massive help. I am sat here on my laptop with the 7 members of my family talking about the holiday.... everybody is sooo excited. I think thats what we will do, go and get our lft passes and Equipment for the days that we actually want to do. What about the Snowboarding?? do you know if it is the same for that?
I really hope the snow picks up for 6th March, as its our first time I want to be able to get out on the slopes.

Oh and you might think that I am being a little bit dimm but what is involved with the full equipment package? is it skies, boots and poles?
Same thing with the board, Dave. And at least what comes to skiing, the full package seems to mean "ski, boots and sticks".
By the way, they do not have helmets for rent, at least not where we rented (next to gondola). So be ready to bring them with you, because they are not very cheap here.
By the way, I just noticed. If you take instructor from the same rental, you may get 15% discount instead of 10.
And all this in Bansko and only what we have seen so far.
