Hi all, as you can see I’m very new to this (with this being my first post!). I’ve spent the last 4 or 5 days reading all your posts on many topics and have found your comments and information very valuable... Kas is extremely helpful and I enjoy her daily updates enormously.! Pamporovo Pete – you are also a fantastic communicator, I partially liked your response to Des..!

My partner Gordon and our 7 year old daughter Abi are flying out to Borovets on the 12th February (really hoping for some good snow); Abi has recently passed her level 7 at the Hemel Ski Slope and she is hoping to join the Hemel race team when she turns 8 in August. This will be my 2nd time to Borovets, the last time being 29 years ago when I skied with my parents and their friends (by the way I’m only 36!!). We’re staying at the Hotel Samokov and I’d really like to have views of anyone who’s stayed there – also would love to know what good to do in the evenings, where’s best to go etc. We’re staying half board but to be honest will probably eat out most nights... will anyone be in Borovets between 12th & 19th Feb?? Gordon would also like to know about the ski-doing – does anyone know if it’s worth the money and if so where we’d book it..??

Firstly welcome to here- you have picked a decent hotel at a decent time i think!
you will find many changes from years ago (i know i did!)
all for the better though!
I have two "fussy" kids who allways found plenty to eat at the Samokov on an evening and never complained- indeed the youngest loved the deserts! (i liked the soup!)
we never ate out on an evening, didnt feel the need to- others and yourself may wish to, but it was fine for us-
The hotel has Bowling and swimming, as well as air rifle range,
The pubs are child friendly and after a days skiing they will probably be ready for bed early evening (mine are!)

we are out 16th Jan to the Iglika- but stayed at the Flora last year and though Basic in the rooms, the hotel was really nice- decent Pub downstairs and breakfasts were ok (we were B&B)- Nice small swimming pool- good spa centre and massage was good!- Its close to everything going on and Im sure the place will be ok for you!
Ohh just watch the tv when you arrive! my son (12) was keenly watching the tv at midnight asi was unpacking- wondered why- it was porn!
