Hi guys gals and dudes, got ma tickets today and seen ski carriage weight 15kg,,,, that's not much going with Nielsen I usually put all my stuff into ma snowboard bag,,,,and don't take a case, doubt I'll be able to this time has anyone else been from eastmids and Nielsen did they weigh the ski/board bags
Easy Jet and Ryanair are sticklers for weight as that's how they make their money. Nielsen, Crystal and Balkan seem more relaxed about it and seldom challenge you if you are slightly over weight - but much depends on the mood of the check-in staff.
Agree with you Pete never had any problem with Balkan, Crystal,or Inghams. But Easyjet will charge you more than the flight if you go over 15kg. I think if you are under your combined baggage and snow equipment allowance 20KG+15kg you do risk the possibility of extra charge. So i have stopped stuffing my snowboard bag with everything including the kitchen sink. Some airlines stipulate only carriage for 1 snowboard not bindings or boots. My tip is be nice and pleasant to the check in staff ...
