re: 15th JAN - BOROVETS UPDATE

Hi Kas

As all the other posters thanks for the updates. Out on the 23rd with 2 other mates and would like to meet up with you and other half, as I'm sure many others will, to thank you.
Are there any decent bars, other activities etc in Samokov that we could try if snow is not brilliant?

Thanks
Tony

re: 15th JAN - BOROVETS UPDATE

Lots of things to do, but hope by then you guys will be ok with the snow. Around New Year / first week in Jan when snow was terrible, loads of people came down to Samokov as everything is half the price of Borovets and as all they ended up doing was sitting in bars, it was worth it! In Boro, you have bowling, swimming, pool, skidoos etc, in samkov, ice-skating rink, mountain bikes, walking etc. You can also also think about going to Bansko if the snow is good over there. Won't take over this ...

Won't take over this post, but if the snow is still bad in the week, send me an email and will suggest a number of good bars etc in samokov - although these are our favourites and others may have different ones.

Ok - Snowplough King - bus goes every half hour from Borovets (first one at 7.30am) until about 7.30 at night. Cost is about 2lev, but not sure - someone else may know this exactly. Bus stops just on the main road by MTel (Traffic lights) and you will see T-market and Billa in front of you. Same on the way back - every 30mins. A taxi is 15lev each way, so depends on convenience etc. Definitely worth stocking up if you are self-catered- the supermarkets in the resort are twice as expensive. ...

Nelly - about 2/12 hours to Bansko. Cost is about 60euro return based on minimum of 4 people. If you need further info, email me and I will find out who is still running them and forward you their details.
Mart - agreed with someone today we would have 'straws' in our drinks, even if it was a pint glass...although won't necc drink from through it as may not last the night. Also, have said to everyone happy to meet there as it's small enough to meet people, but then we're happy to go on to wherever people want to go - ie: everyone's favourite bars.
Looking forward to it and preserving the liver for a few days....!!

re: 15th JAN - BOROVETS UPDATE

Hi Kas, thanks for all the info you supply it has been a great help.

We may be interested going into Samakov for drinks and would probably like to go ice-skating. Is the rink open daily and what times? I presume if we just ask the taxi driver to take us to the ice-skating rink in Samakov he will know what we mean?

Thanks Kim.
