Just back from Borovets.
As first timer I really enjoyed the skiing. tuition/conditions good, equipment only OK but the "apre" was a bonus
I travelled on my own and was lucky to meet up with the best crowd of people that you could imagine. Stayed at Edelwaiss. Food only passable but hotel very clean and comfortable. Happy hour provided cheap booze with good measures.
"Joy" restuarant near gondala provided our gang with first class meal all the trimmings including drinks and dropped us ...

Buzz was buzzing and even an old guy like me was not made to feel out of place there. Mamma Mia for steaks would be good choice.
So if you are going on your own "no problem". I wish I was going back myself.
I will be soon, or at worst 18th Jan next year.

MikeGood to hear you enjoyed yourself, sounds like age is not a matter, nor is going in a crowd or a group. Bulgaria seems the place for good value food and drink, good skiing and great memories
Girlfriend and I are going to Bansko in March - so hopefully it will be as good, as your holiday sounds
