What a fab time we had in pamps 8th - 15th March.
It was our first time Skiing and what an experience.
The ski instryctor 'Nelly' was great and we had a great group and made good friends. We stayed at the Hotel Belmont, food, service and staff were fantastic. Not as cheap as we were told to eat/drink out. Snow could have been better, but still had a fab time and now got the bug for skiing.

What is the weather like in January in Borovets or Bansko, thinking of going next year but want more snow! (don't we all)
Also can anybody recommend a good hotel in either resort, will only be our second time skiing so which resort would be best?
the perun hotel in bansko, really nice hotel, havent stayed there but spent some time there on our last visit, if I went back thats where I would book.
We have been to Bansko twice , one the first week in Feb , the last time 2 weeks ago.
First time was in the Kempinski , snow was excellent.
Last time , snow was good at the top , but poorer lower down. Some big Q's in the morning - Late Feb supposed to be worse , so be carefull!
Usually stay in Rila. Great location at bottom of Rila slope so depending on snow you can ski straight down to hotel doors. Night skiing and toboggoning is on the same slope. Walk down the main street to gondola which can be tricky if icy but again if snow is good you can slowly ski down.
Hotel is big but well decorated, rooms clean with full size bath, TV and balconies. Rooms at front overlook slopes but can be noisey at night but lots to see! Rooms at back overlook forest and are ...

Breakfast is a good choice between continental and English, including pancakes, cold meats, bread, rolls, fruit, yoghourt, tea and coffee. Evening meal is always a good choice, especially salads but main meals are a little bit hit and miss, taste and appeal wise.
Large downstairs bar with cable TVs but a bit expensive. Swimming pool and jaccuzi free to guests. Ski stores in hotel but we take ours back up to room and have never been stopped. 24 hour bank and shops etc.
Tracy,
Have been to Boro twice. 1st time we stopped in the Rila, found it too busy and over powering. Good location
This year we stopped in the Ela, which is over the road from the Gondola. The Ela has just been re furbed and was a lot nicer than the Rila.
We have booked for Jan 09 in the Ela. Got the best deal with Crystal.
Thanks for all the info. I'll have to look to see who has got the best deals for next year, heard Balkan Hols does good deals.
Not looked at Crystal Hols so I'll give them a try also.
Want to be near slopes and lifts as this year stayed at Belmont Hotel in Pamps, even nthough hotel was great it was too remote for the nightlife/restaurants.
