Hi All,
Coming out to Pamporovo end of Jan with Wife & 3 kids but a little concerned about what the food is like for little ones. 2 of my kids are fussy as hell. We are staying half board at the Snezhanka and wondered if they do cater for all tastes or are the rumours from others on ski sites correct about a sub standard quality & cold?
certainly not the case in Bansko. my kids love the food in both the Mehanas and the more modern pubs/restaurants...tend not to do kids portions but the kebabs are fab and the salad choice is great as is garlic bread etc etc. kids should be fine Phil...do not worry!
What you must remember Phil is Bulgaria is still quite a poor country. The Bulgarians generally eat their food a lot cooler than we do. (Tip.. ask if they could heat it up in a microwave). The choices aren't that bad if your not a fussy eater in the hotels. However, there are some really nice restaurants in resort, and because it is Bulgaria, they are quite reasonably priced. Personally I like to think of every holiday as an adventure. I love Pamps. This will be my 8th visit on 14th Jan. ...

If not, you could always double your budget and go for the French alps next time!!!
I should have added to your post, I have had a cold meal once (cooler than we are use to), I just asked for it to be warmed up. Which they did willingly. Relax and look forward to your first trip to Bulgaria, it wont be your last.
Pizza's and chips in bulgaria are the business - your kids will love the food here!
If its colder than you want just ask them at point of order to be hot or ask them to heat it up when it comes - the bulgarians will not be offended! Its just the way they eat most of their food!
There is lots that your children will enjoy apart from Pizza and chips. Much of the food is BBQ cooked and so there are lots of chicken, beef or pork kebabs (basically the meat pushed on a skewer and cooked on a BBQ) - they also do omelettes and mine loved the soups on offer. In pretty much all the restaurants I have eaten in there has always been plenty of variety and choice and we have never had a problem finding food the kids like. Hi Phil
Mine are now 7, 10 and 13 and we have been going to Pamps for the past few years and always stay in our apartment at Snezhanka.
In Snezhanka the buffets have a great variety of things - particularly breakfast, so always something for everyone. As said previously, it is usually served luke warm but don't be afraid to ask for it to be re-heated. The more guests that ask the greater the chance they will eventually realise that hot food is generally preferred by the tourists!
The Mehana downstairs in Snezhanka is also great. They just asked what my kids wanted to eat - and then cooked them exactly what they asked for.
