Our party of four, myself, Helen, Steve and Denise are all in our early forties and are hitting Pamparovo for the 1st time on the 29th Feb for a week. We are staying at the Hotel Pamparovo. I have skied numerous European resorts in the past and the others are 1st time skiers.
I would appreciate any info on the resort that will help me to make their 1st Skiing holiday one to remember!!

There is a free public bus service which stops right in front of your hotel!! But it is the last stop so sometimes you cant find a seat in the morning!! Dont worry the ride is short!!!!
The best currency is sterlings or euros, maybe dollars!!! Watch out for exchange rates!!!!! There are big signs showing the rates but they are always fake, always ask how much they give for hundred sterlings, then give your money!!! In Bulgaria there are no second chances for money so just be careful and ...

rate at Pamp is quite low(2.5). the cash machine by the white heart gave us the best rate while we where there(2.77).
we took lev and sterling, no problem spending sterling.
Pamp. is the last stop for the ski bus so you might have a bit of a wait. get a taxi though, its only about £4.00 and easier than gettin on and off the bus.
I was there last week but stayed at the Perelik - 2 stops further up the road, I left the hotel a little early 8.30 - 8.50 and there were not the queues that you get if you leave it any later as the ski school starts at 10 and everybody seems to leave between 9 and 9.30, about a 10 minute ride down to the slopes.
The good part of leaving early is that I could get up the 3 man lift and come all the way down the mountain and be warmed up nicely for my lessons.

I went in the Pamporovo on the last night very plush hotel, but several of my ski class were saying that the food was not very good, but if the food was anything like at the Perelik then it will not be too bad just a little on the warm side and not red hot. this is how the bulgarians eat there meals as well.

As long as you treat it as an adventure and aren't expecting the same facilities as other European resorts then you will have a great time....Skio conditions perfect @ the moment.
Hi Kevster. You will have a great time in Pamporovo, you might well find that you Ski out the resort quilckly if you are an experianced skier as it is quite small. But your 1st timers will have more than enough to keep them occupied. Please go with an open mind if you have not been to eastern europe before it can indeed by an eye opener! People are warm and genuine and love the english and Ski school is of a high standard.
