Hi Stuart
Youll get plenty of advice on here- look back over all the posts and all your questions will be answered!
Take Sterling notes out, not defaced or damaged and get them changed in the banks or use ATM Machines- as said in recent posts do not use the little booths (they rip you off!)
Samokov is a decent hotel- just go with the Bulgarian culture and you will enjoy! Very Happy

re: 1st ski holiday

Stuart,

Dont worry, get some Lev at the airport to last you the 1st night then just use the ATM machines. If you have to bring cash then as said before £20 clean notes and change them at the BANK, ( know there's one at the Rila).

Borovets is a really compact resort, which is half the beauty of the place. Dont worry you'll easily realise the best bars.

Do a search on here there's loads of info!

Do not, and i say again, do not.... go anywhere near the bars advertising nude dancing, topless dancing, go go, naked dj's, naked barmaids.......
You will go blind, and you will not go to heaven.... and your mum would not want you to either Wink
I met Steve C in a bar, naked girating women offering their wares, it did make conversation difficult... i was there purely to save him from sin Mad unfortunately i was to late for others in his group... 20 lv for what ?? behind the curtain ?? ...

re: 1st ski holiday

Change your money out there as the banks like the £, hire your ski's in advance if you can as you get a good deal with the agents.
Shop around for the best priced bars and the local bootled beers are good with a good price.
Arange to meet people out there on chat sights like this and you end up meeting them every year!!!! but will have a great laugh remembering all the wipe outs you have had.
Take a waterproof camera if your new at skiing and fresh ski socks as they get wet every day ...
