1st time bansko

Hey guys,

couple of questions before i leave tomorrow for Bankso.

1.Where is best place to get lift pass + rental for snowboard/boots. (on a strict budget unfortunately)

2. how much deposit is required for gear.

3. whats the snow like at the moment hehehe

Thanks a lot everyone

re: 1st time bansko

lift passes are only from the gondola, I think Bansko sports are the best place to rent, very friendly and well priced. Ullen offer a lift discount if you rent from then , but it does not work out much cheaper and they do not open until 8.30.

The snow is ok on piste, but it needs more

Hi Dave,

thanks for the response. do bansko sports have a website?

I have a day(Sunday) to have a roam about to price excursions and ski equpment. Starting Monday. Is it possible to rent the gear the day before you start?

re: 1st time bansko

they do, but it is useless. I know that there you can get fitted the day before then pick it up in the morning, it is near the gondola, through the car park. there is no deposit, you need id first day though and they will ask where you are staying.

Ive used them a lot so they do not ask for anything now. you take everything back every night which is good as you dont have to walk far in ski boots and you can leave your shoes there all day

OK,

to avoid queues on gondola though getting gear every morning could mean long time waiting. Is there anywhere you can get gear for the 6days and return when finished.

Thanks again

re: 1st time bansko

ah that is what is good, you put your own gear away then get it out in the morning, they open at 8.00 but are always there earlier so you avoid the queues. lots of the others do not open until 8.30, when the lift starts, but that usually starts early too.

I do not know of anywhere where you take the stuff away, there may be, but not up near the gondola.

re: 1st time bansko

I rented last year from a hire shop just down a little way from the gondola but not sure what shop it was (name) Confused I took the kit away as was staying at Emerald and that's just a short hop away from gondola.

re: 1st time bansko

I have to agree with dave. I use bansko sports every year and was there last week as well. I believe we paid 100 lev for ski and boot hire for 6 days. They are very good and take time to ensure that your boots etc are correct for you.
