We've (4 lads and a lass) just got back from our 1st time in Bansko. Had a really good time and a full on assault of the body (mainly due to non-skiing activities!) Snow conditions deterioated through the week but were still a heap loads better than Les Gets in Jan! Just had to keep a keen eye for those nasty ski munching rocks.
Highlights :-
The Huge cocktails in Amigos till 4AM
The partying in the Old Town clubs till 6AM
The Lion Pub till god knows what time
The food & hospitality ...

Friday night at the Happy End
Oh, and the skiing.....
All the runs under the chairs were quite fun
Skiing dressed as a cow/dog (some confusion with the locals over that one!)
Lowlights
Getting up every morning to go skiing
Dodgy food in the Goat restaraunt
The touts trying it on in the old town restaraunts wore a bit thin
The transfer back to Sofia, although the transfer from Sofia to Bansko was much better (2.5 hours on pretty pot-hole free roads)
Will I go again? Absolutely. With more snow the off piste skiing will be more accessible, and if they ever do expand the skiing then the area will be pretty good. Looking around its easy to see how the area could easily be expanded with the right backing etc.
I am a bit concerned about the level of accomodation development. There's just not going to be nearly enough skiing when. A local told us that development licences have now been stopped, lets hope so.
