1st time in bulgaria

Off to Borovets on Sunday, 1st time with family and 1st time in Bulgaria.Staying at the Rila.Just wanted some idea what the bars around town are like for my 6&12yrs old boys.Any problems?Also will it be busy Monday morning at the ski hire shops.

Off to the Rila on sat, with my son,14, there are a couple of sports bars with sky football, a few dodgy bars for the older lads!!!. Best get to the hire shop early. Have a good time.

Hi, have a great time. We are off on the 11th Feb. Grampus, is your 6yr old booked into Kids Ski School with your 12yr old, or is he sking through the Kindergarden? We have boys aged 7 and 8. Someone told us that if they are under 8, they have to ski through kindergarden (only 2 hrs a day)! Hope this is not true! Anyone help with this? TA.

Yvette, my 6yr old is booked into the ski kindergarden as I,m led to beleive 8yrs is the minimum age for ski school

Grampus, same as us, we are also led to believe the minium age is 8 for ski school. However, I have heard rumours that this is not the case. Maybe we will just have to wait and see!! Perhaps you would be kind enough to let me know on your return. Ta very much.

We went to Borovets last year with our daughter (who was then 7) and her lessons were the same 4 hours as hours (2 hrs morning & 2 hours afternoon). I can't remember if she was in the ski kindergarten but there was a good age range of kids there, some a lot younger and some that looked older. She had a totally fab time btw!

Thanks Vicky, sound like your daughter went to normal kids ski school, if it was the same hours as yourselves, which is great! The kingergarden only does skiing for 1hr in the morning and 1 hr in the afternoon, with them playing inside/outside for the remaining time. Yvette

Hello all!! Having skiied the last 4 years in various resorts in France with our 4 children we are toying with Bulgaria as a "change"! However I am concerned that my 6 and 7 year olds will not be able to go to ski school due to their age.They've both done kindergarten and ski school in France. Can anyone clarify the situation for me please?

We went to Boro 2 years ago and and our son was just 6 years old and was in ski school for four hours a day was youngest there staying at rila and great fun with no problems was given dinner money and the instructors took them for lunch although min age has now risen to 7 we are off tommorrow and again son going to kids ski school staying at Samokov for no other reason apart from a change both hotels very good
