2 questions

1) As Pamporovo is regarded as the warmest ski resort in Europe, would I be correct in thinking that there would be no need for a large ski jacket in early February, and that a bodywarmer would suffice?

2) I've been skiing a few times to various resorts Les deux alpes, arinsal and Livigno, and I thought the range of slopes in Livigno was the best I'd encountred so far - How does Pamporovo compare with any of these resorts in terms of skiing?

I went to Pamporovo last year (late January) and had a great time. I also went to Livigno 2 years ago.

Whilst I had a much better all round holiday in Bulgaria, the variety and length of some of the pistes is greater in Livigno (ie skiing on both sides of the valley). Pamporovo is a bit more limited in choice but it does offer more picturesque runs through the trees - and the pistes were well looked after.

As for it being warm - I'm not sure - it was bloody cold on the ski lift up the mountain - I'd take your jacket mate!

I agree with Gloves, Very cold on the 3 man lift to the top, but you will soon warm up.

When are you going? My mate and I are out on 31st Jan for a week. (Thanks Maria)

Hi Brian

Why not save on luggage, wear your body warmer and buy a big ski jacket in Pamps. Ther are lots of bargains in the clothing department.

re: 2 questions

Impossible question to answer.

I have been there in Jan/Feb when it has been really hot and skied in a t - shirt, and have also been there the same time when it has been -17 degrees.

Bettter to have and not need, than to need and not have.
