Hi Pete,
This was my second year out to Pamps, first year in Pamporovo Hotel of which the room, service and restaraunt were awful, but it did'nt stop me coming back to Pamps for the ski-ing. This year just got back last night from the Orlovetz Hotel, by far the best for quality, lovely room, service was good albeit very slow, and very clean. As for the Snow... what snow. This year just got back last night from the Orlovetz Hotel, by far the best for quality, lovely room, service was good albeit very slow, and very clean. As for the Snow... what snow. Managed to ski most of the week thanks to the great instructor we had and his help on only blue run kept open with the snow guns. The conditions ie Ice, and Mud we were expected to walk over to get to the ski room and the lift were abominable, so much so that the week we were there most of the accidents and injuries happened just getting to and from the lifts. No attempt was made to lay some straw or gravel to make some sort of path to the lifts despite the amount of accidents. As for the muck and the mess of the streets with broken slabs or none to speak of and litter in both the resort and ski hut areas was abominable. No money is being put back into the resort. Seeing the mess of the resort without the snow has certainly put me off coming back. The 'White Hart' - Good pub but object strongly to paying to use the loos when you are spending your money there on food and drink. It's the people that you meet on holiday that make's it so enjoyable because the Bulgarian's in that resort have no personality whatsoever. All in all I had a great holiday thanks to our instructor and the people we met while there.

re: 2006-7 THE SEASON REVIEWED

I probably wouldn't go again over Xmas but that's got nothing to do with the lack of snow.

It was a one-off as I'd never been away over Xmas before and I feel that it's more of a family thing rather than us old ravers like me and Angie Razz

It was a great chance to take my 80 year old mum there and she loved it - especially boarding down the Wall.

Probably stick to last week in Jan/first week in Feb in future.

We too are going to Austria next year (Niederau) as that's where we learnt to ski many years ago. Probably also do a late week in Italy as we've never been there.

We intend doing Pamporovo every other year from now on as it has started to get a bit 'samey' after 15 years. But then again, when the time comes ... who knows I just might not be able to resist it.

Not winding down Heather and Steve, it's just that the posters have reduced drastically over the past couple of weeks so I thought I'd just post a summary while there was still people here to read it.

Have a wonderful time both of you - and if you want to get him a surprize birthday cake, speak to the guys at the White Hart - their cakes are to die for Razz
