Steve C / nightmuffy.....keep up the great work. you guys do a fab job and we are really appreciative of the useful comments you pass on to us and all the info on future proposals etc etc. signing off for the season. might just pop back on from time to time but see you guys next winter. maybe jan again hopefully.
You would think that Ulen would make it known what plans were afoot in order to influence holidaymakers for next season. Are they aware of the dissatisfaction experienced by the punters or blissfully unaware. I must say I also found the food options poor on the slopes but the staff were fine. What did get my goat was the lack of manners of Russians and possibly Bulgarians on and around the slopes. No thanks for opening doors, no good mornings, minimal smiles or acknowledgements .... It may ...

It may be that it is just the way they are but in the town the village folk seem friendlier.
Any further news on the new airport ? and anyone know when might the golf club accept non residents ?
Thanks Nightmuffy (intrigued by the name)
Do you know if they accept pay and players ?
Shame about the airport although the drive isn't too bad once off the ring road.
Driving from Bansko I noticed a ski slope a few miles away, on the left. Was I correct ? Couldn't make out a lift though.
Thats Kulinotto!! Its a very smal ski area with a couple of tows. This is one of the areas in the Razlog Valley may may update but it is very definately not snow sure. take this season I doubt they were able to to open for than a couple of week if that!!
If you need to know more about the golfiing click on my name email me and i will put you in touch with people that play there regular in the summer.
It sounds very interesting even if it does sound a bit 'Super Borovets 2014'
Somebody clearly has money in Bulgaria or is putting it in. I found the level of construction going on around Sofia right now quite unbelievable. Somebody is spending many thousands of millions and from what I hear it isn't coming from the EU.
I take it Kulinotto has not got the safety net of snow making machines? If it had the machine cover that Bansko has would it have been a different story for Kulinotto this season?
No Machines unfortunately. It is only a very small resort mainly 1run and 2 pomma's I think when Steve and I went. Bearing in mind was a while ago as I was still pregnant. Snow cannons would make a difference due to the height of the resort. And I guess if they are outting money into the place that definastely would make a big difference. The bars there are all locally run and all traditional little huts and Mehana's. Very cheap and all Bulgarian. Thing s have been happening behind the golf ...

Our landlord has been sorting the Ulen lock out today at the bottom of town and mentioned something about getting ready for the new chair?????.............We will find out more this week as he has just became a Grandfather to twins and we ahve been invited to the family celebrations where Rakia is very much free and flowing so perhaps Steve can get a little more info out of him if he doesnt dive head first into his empty Rakia glass first heheheehehe
Wendy do Ulen own the area over in the St Ivan area...by St Johns....if so, did they have plans for the 2nd Gondola to go in here?...i did not know this...but would be great if this did happen...maybe we won't sell the apartment
I too am very interested in what is happening behind Pirin Country Club as in the Mountains there is certainly a huge clearng of trees which to someone with no knowledge of how these things work it appears to be the width of a piste.
Weve a pad there so clearly would welcome additional runs.
