Hi, I came skiing for first time in Feb this year and want to bring my son in 2015. We are fixed on our dates thou. What do people recon the snow/ski would be like for a 12 year old for his first time from 28march to 4/5 April???Cheers

Hi RichardThat is quite late really. Snow might be ok (who knows?) but most of the main tour operators will have already stopped by then so the town will be very quiet and places will start to close. I wouldn't leave it much later than second week in March personally.

I agree with Snowhite that all resorts will be relatively quiet except for the fact that it is obviously Easter, you may get people booking up last minute deals especially if the snow is good. Borovets also gets quite busy with locals as it is only 1 hour from Sofia and their Easter holidays fall at a similar time.
If you look back at the snow archives on here, you will see that March has in fact seen the best snow over the last few years and last year, when there was next ...

If you look back at the snow archives on here, you will see that March has in fact seen the best snow over the last few years and last year, when there was next to no snow all season, the main snow (if you can call it that) actually came in the middle of March.
You may want to look at other benefits, from middle of March the lift pass prices come down for the last month of the season (I am not sure about the other resorts and I am only talking about Borovets as that is where we live and work) and so does accommodation etc. I know it is not all about the price but for first-timers/ children it is worth looking at this as if they don't like it they etc then you have less to lose. IF the snow was guaranteed to be better at a different time then the cost-saving would obviously not be worth it however as we all know it is all a bit like a crystal ball...
