3 intermediates to Boro

Hi

We are a group of 3 intermediates off to Borovets for a week on 12 March.

Having looked at the piste map, I am guessing that the runs will occupy us for 3-4 days.

Is this a fair assessment? If so, are there any links to the other resorts (e.g. bus, taxi), or are they so far away that it is not practical.

A couple more questions too if I may:

1) any rough idea how much a ski pass is for the week
2) is Borovets a quiet or lively resort

Thanks in advance,

pat

re: 3 intermediates to Boro

You could keep yourself busy all week - if you are intermediates, why not book some private lessons for the week and become advanced

The ski pass is much cheaper if you buy in advance - it's 281 Lev in resort.

It can be quiet, but can also be very lively - depends on what you are looking for.

Where are you staying and where are you travelling from - I'm also off to Boro on 12th, staying at the Samokov

re: 3 intermediates to Boro

Hi Judith

we're travelling from Gatwick, which is a bit of a pain as we are all based elsewhere (Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol), but at least the the flight is at a sensible time (1pm or thereabouts).

Our accommodation is allocated on arrival, so no idea where we are staying yet - all we know is that it is a 2 * hotel.

Can the ski passes be booked on the web in advance?

Where are you travelling from?

Travelling from Gatwick on the Monarch flight - check out the postings from Ellie re: the Albena ski school - it's probably best ringing them and asking if you can buy your ski passes from them before you go.

Hi we went A.O.A. 2 * and we were in the Edelweiss Hotel, its in old borovets about 10/15 mins walk from resort. Its a basic but clean ok hotel. Albena ski school ask for Valentino he will do you a great deal, he charged us £95 for everything (Equipment/passes/school!!!!!!!) we was really made up as others were paying nearly £200. Dont get anything from your tour op, they are the most expensive and will tell you that they are the cheapest in resort (Load of rubbish) Its probably best ...
