Tried to email this directly to you but it kept getting bounced back.
Unfortunately I spotted your posting about 2 way radios a little late I think. The attached link shows a pair of walkie-talkies I bought on e-bay yesterday. Can you please confirm if these are legal or not, and if not what are the consequences of my using them in Bulgaria.

I think that you are risky territiory using those radios in Europe as well as the UK as they do not use the PMR466 frequency which is the licence free frequency. Yours cover the GMRS and FRS frequencies which are not the licence free frequencies in the UK and probably Europe as well. Also the wattage is far greater than the 0.5w that comes with the PMR 466 licence free radios.
Take a look at this. It should answer all your questions. It also confirms that your radios are legal without you getting granted for a licence to use them.
Hi TMC, The radios you've bought aren't legal in The UK. I seriously doubt you'd ever use them over here though. I'm not sure about Bulgaria to be honest, I know the PMR446 radios are. How likely it is you'd get caught using them anywhere is beyond me. Not much help to you, I know, but I haven't got a clue where to start looking for Bulgarian radio transmission legislation.
But then now you know this, you'd never use them would you?
Glad you liked the video, more to follow when we get ...

I have just bought two new Motorola T5522 PMR446 two-way radios which is about as good as you will get - currently, within the licence-free PMR446 0.5w category. They are compatible in almost all European countries (including Bulgaria) and the UK. Mine cost £69.99 (incl VAT and free next day courier delivery) and that was for two handsets and a whole host of battery rechargers and accessories.
my son has a set of binatone MR200 walkie talkie can anyone tell me if they are any good or even legal. he said they are crap (not sure if thats any excuse to get away from mums nagging even on the slopes).
