A couple of holiday questions

hi all,

My friends and I will be heading over to Bansko on the 20th of Feb to celebrate my upcoming 40th birthday. Whilst my mate Scott and I were perfecting our 'looking cool' techniques on the slopes of Glen Shee yesterday, he made a couple of good points I hadn't thought about.

Currency? I was assuming that everywhere would accept euros, is this the case and is it the best to have or should we be thinking about ordering Bulgarian currency from the postie before we head off on ...

Currency? I was assuming that everywhere would accept euros, is this the case and is it the best to have or should we be thinking about ordering Bulgarian currency from the postie before we head off on holiday. A recent mountainbiking holiday in Morocco left me well stung when I turned up with local currency when everyone wanted euros Confused

Snowboard packing? This is more of a general question. A couple of us are bringing boards, what's the best way to pack em'? We're flying from Manchester with Easyjet and I had planned to stuff my boots, salopettes and jacket in with the board as extra baggage handler protection Very Happy. Should I remove my bindings and pack them in my hold luggage?

What'd you advise as the best method of packing kit?

Cheers for any advice,

Craig

re: A couple of holiday questions

Remove bindings then attach to your boots, pack in hold luggage. I put board in bottom of bag, then place all my gear + boots and binings on top.

Hi Craig and a very warm welcome to the board.

Right - Money.
The currency in Bulgaria is the Leva (Lev) and there are approx. 2 to the £.

It is advisable to take Sterling with you and change in resort as you will get a better rate in Bulgaria than UK.
Take only clean crisp notes that are not torn or written on as these will not be accepted. You can take Euros and change them if prefered, but Sterling will give you a better exchange rate. Only change money at Banks or your Hotel ...

Only change money at Banks or your Hotel reception and NEVER change money with strangers no matter what rate they offer you.

As for your board - well we are skiers but we bought a board bag which we can get both sets of skis in plus all our ski wear leaving a lot more room in the main cases.

We bought ours in Pamporovo but most Ski and Boarding shops in the UK will stock them.

Cool
