A fantastic Holiday

My wife and I have just returned from a weeks skiing at Pamps, apart from the outbound journey from hell due to the fog the skiing in Pamporovo was excellent. We had six days of ski school with Emilia our instructor, who I would like to thank and send our love to if anyone happens to see her in the coming weeks. She was so easy going and had a wicked sense of humour.

We stayed at the Perelik, rooms were very basic but clean, dont forget your ear plugs if you happen to stay in room numbers 455-475 it can be noisy during the night because of the loud music in the games room below. Food was okay dont expect anything fancy and be prepared to eat a lot of chicken! Most of the staff were friendly & if you want a good deal on changing money some of the porters will kindly oblige on the quiet!!

As for the ski buses be prepared to take a taxi or even walk on occasions, the road last week were a nightmare to and from the ski resort no organisation and no efforts made to clear the roads of snow, but we were assured that this was a one off. Apart from these minor hick ups the skiing more than made up for it. Going to book again for next year, will be counting the days!!

To anyone who is about to go out to Pamps Im sure you'll have a great time as the snow conditions are perfect.

P.S as for the transfer time from Sofia it took us 4hrs yesterday with a stop at Mc'D's.

re: A fantastic Holiday

What was the pool like, did you try the sauna?

Also what time is the evening meal, as last year in Andorra my little one (Cool was about falling asleep when the meal was served.

The shops between the Perelik and Mourgevets are there many and are they cheap - wont bring many clothes if they are.

What price a cheap meal on the slopes i.e. Mc D's?

Sorry so many questions but we are off in 12 days 22 hours YYYIIIPPPPEeeee

Can answer the question about cheap clothes, yes they are. Not sure about the cost of MD's on the slopes, it wasn't recommended by our instructor last year. Lunch is good value on the slopes with plenty of variety.

Yeah would appreciate you saying hello to Emelia she might know me as Dave (a joke between our ski school class as she was having difficulty saying my name at the beginning of the week!). Have fun and enjoy the snow & Booze Wink Wink

Too tired to try out the pool but some of the younger lads in our ski class had a go, they said it was ok but rather cool, they also mentioned the sauna being full of naked men!!

The evening meal starts at 6.30 until about 9.00ish so shouldn't be too late for the little one.

Not many clothes shops in the shopping centre but there are three ski shops prices are very reasonable, my self and my wife invested in some ski boots at about £75 a pair a good price.

You dont really need lots ...

You dont really need lots of warm clothes because you can walk between the Perelik, shopping centre and Morgavets through the lobby bar and corridor system which is fully heated no need to set foot outside or walk through the slushy snow.

When catching the ski bus in the morning the rep will tell you to pick it up down the road from the Morgavets ignore this as they are usually full before they reach here, instead when you walk out of the main entrance of the Perelik walk through the car park with the post office on your right go through the barrier to the car park and walk up the road until you reach the Hotel Snezhanka all the ski buses start from here this might give you a little bit of a head start.

Hope this info is of use to you.
