Hello,
Coming out to Borovets on Monday 21st, can't wait!
What shoes shall we bring? Do people wear snow boots in the restaurants in the evenings? My 13 year old daughter is worried about looking out of place! Is it very casual apres ski i.e jeans and jumpers or does anything go? Bit of advice would be great. My 11 year old son only has trainers, and seems pointless buying him anything else as he will never wear it again and they grow so fast.

Do most people wear goggles or are sunglasses ok and do all the kids wear helmets these days?
Also, does anyone know what time Hunters lessons are and are the kids in their own group (11 and13)?
Thanks,
Katie.
ps staying in a Flora partment
Evenings are pretty casual jeans and warm tops with maybe a couple of nice tops for a couple of nice evenings out. Your son should be fine in the evenings in trainers but if he wants to go and play in the snow they will be wet pretty quick........ could you pick him up a real cheap pair of snow boots for the week? If your daughter ha a pair of smart ish boots to wear with jeans or leggings that would prob be good for the evenings and she can wear them on the plane out to save space int he case or is her snow boots are funky they will be fine in the eve. I would advise wearing helmets for both ....... my son started skiing at 4 and is now 10 and has never worn a helmet but will be wearing one this year after the increase of stories of adults and children getting nasty injuries without.
Cheap snow boots or just a decent pair of walking boots seem to do the job in ski resorts the world over!
My lot (girls 7, 11, 15) have packed jeans and fleeces for the evenings and just their snow boots for the time they won't be wearing their ski boots.

Hey its no real difference from being back home, just have to watch sometimes it can be icey lol, people falling all over the place, mostly when there pissed lol
I used to wear sunglasses until I went to Bulgaria. Sometimes the conditions dictate that you wear goggles. I can't ski in sunglasses any more. I think that it used to be a bit of a fashion thing but not so much now in the same way that it wasn't cool to wear a helmet but it's safety 1st these days.
It can get very cold in the evenings, it really might be worth getting your son something just for the week re his footwear.
I've always taken both - goggles and sunglasses. There have been holidays when my goggles have never come out of my suitcase - then there have been other holidays when I have needed to wear them every day. It really does depend on the weather. Its a bit like going on holiday in the UK and saying 'will I need sunglasses or an umbrella' - I would say take both!
I came back from there about two weeks ago and our lessons were from 10am to 12pm then from 1pm till about 3pm. On the third day we went off on our own to the top the mountain and a couple of our group went straight on a blue run!!!! came back in one piece as well. Had a great time. You will as well
goggles and helmets in the day girls on the slopes....
i had a lady run into the back of me a couple of weeks back, first i knew of it was a pair of ski's appearing between my legs between my own ski's...the resulting accident was me being taken out and falling over with my helmwt on and being ok...when i looked around the lady was lying motionless in the middle of the run with a woolly hat on....she was ok but.....crazy for not wearing a helmet...i told her to get one ....whether she did ...
