A great Piece of kit!

All,
When I was in Canada I met and skied with a bloke who has developed a very good piece of kit to assist your skiing, it is worn like a rucksack, but very unobtrusive. Here is a link to his site, (PP has said it is ok for me to post it here) http://www.theskicoach.com/index.htm
This guy is a brit who is based in Banff Canada.

My whole skiing style changed for the better with this piece of kit. Worth taking a look!

That looks really interesting Ally. I'd be interested to see if schools adopt it in the future.

re: A great Piece of kit!

Quite a few of the instructors use it in Canada, I had read about last summer and when I was out there I saw some guys wearing it. I asked my instrucor about them who told me it was a guy who I had met the previous afternoon while waiting for the ski bus, his room mate!!!
He actually took me and my mate out for 2 hours with each of us wearing one, and gave us instruction with no obligation to buy, but I was convinced and bought one!

I must add that this is for skiers who are at mid-upper intermediate level, as you need to be carving well for this to work! But when it works, my god does it work!

You really realise how badly you were skiing before!

Looks interesting but unless it can teach me to stop I'm not sure it is the aid for me AllyWink

Hi Ellie,
That was precisely the problem Jim had, and the instructors out there had him doing "hockey stops" within 2 days, it's all about weight distribution!

Weight distribution - but I haven't got much to distribute - does that make a difference Wink

We're off to Morzine on Saturday - traitors just like you this year!

re: A great Piece of kit!

Hi Ellie,
I hope you all have a great time, it's been a long time coming.
As for the weight distribution, its all about getting what weight you have over the down hill ski, and having your shoulders level, as opposed to leaning into the slope, as lots of people do! Just look at Chris' demo in his videos on the site!
He completely changed my skiing style, for the better may I add!!!
