I told you short in one of my last messages that there is a new restaurant in Samokov, now I test...
For all they are interessted in bulgarian wine, cuisine and culture this restaurant is a must.

For all they are interessted in bulgarian wine, cuisine and culture this restaurant is a must.
The name is stara kaschta, or Old House, and this is the truth it is an house renovate and was build in the time of the national rebirth of the bulgarian art and culture in the 18./19. centuary and so this restaurant is not only a house for eating and drinking it is also a small museum.
And now the best it is the cheapest one I know in this quality all over Borovez and Samokov, the most expensive dish is a mixed plate of lamb for 7,50 lev, the highest priced wine is 15 lev and is a really good high quality Cabernet Sauvignon from Svischtov called Gorchivka from 1998.
So try out the own worse is better take a taxi but you will enjoy this evening and the cost for the drive you will save by a 3 course by two persons with a bottle of wine....

i think that is the same restaurant i went to in the summer (very low ceiling downstairs) it was ok but the food took ages to arrive on a saturday night when it was busy.

Yes this could be the cellar was really low, but I got no problems with the fastness of the kitchen.So may be try out your own.
