A question

OK seeing as how it's been so quiet tonight and there is a shortage of questions I have spent all night trying to think of a question that I'm actually interested in the answer to and here it is:-

How hard is the Tomba black run in Bansko?

I've done several red runs on my 2 previous skiing trips and had conditions been a little better on my last day last year I would have probably had a go at it.

Can anyone tell me whether it is black because it's steep or whether it's black because ...

Can anyone tell me whether it is black because it's steep or whether it's black because I'll need to be able to ski over moguls at 70mph?

re: A question

The tomba is steep in places and can be moguled and its the cobination of terrain and degree of descent that makes a black a black. Is skiing it hard? Yes, your stepping up to the next level, confidence and technique are more important than 70mph down moguls. If you confidently ski reds go black, if you are confident in traverse and short swing or compression turns ski black, if you dob out on the reds and still slip into the snow plow on turns find it hard to maintain your edges in a steep ...

Yes, your stepping up to the next level, confidence and technique are more important than 70mph down moguls. If you confidently ski reds go black, if you are confident in traverse and short swing or compression turns ski black, if you dob out on the reds and still slip into the snow plow on turns find it hard to maintain your edges in a steep traverse don't ski black. talk to your instuctor he will be honest with you, if he says your not ready dont do it, but ask him what you need to improve on and can you work on some exercises to improve your technique. I have skied for 20 years and was a instuctor for 6 and raced for a couple of seasons, and I dont ski any black on the first day, and never on my last run of the day or when I feel tired, saying that it is a total pant filling experience and still makes me excited if I drop over an edge or just know I'm about to push myself as far as I can at that moment in time. no other feeling has matched this so enjoy it safely.
