Hi Ali
Just read some of your posts, sorry to hear about your injury. We were dissapointed with bansko this yea, mainly the Hotel Lion tho. We did find prices had gone up and equipment in the shops a rip off, most off stuff cheaper at home. It was a shame about the conditions, we were lucky in January, Rob was tempted to leave it until March this year just glad we didnt. You sound like you had a brill holiday in france just before christmas, and at least you have experienced somewhere ...

It was a shame about the conditions, we were lucky in January, Rob was tempted to leave it until March this year just glad we didnt. You sound like you had a brill holiday in france just before christmas, and at least you have experienced somewhere different. I dont think we will be returning to Bulgaria next year. We are thinking of taking Emilia with us next year she will be 8 next February, but not sure where to go. Rob doesnt like the french so that is out I fancy Austria but he has already been and didnt like it so will probably be Italy or Andorra, but have been there twice. Pas is great skiing but it is bloody ugly a bite like a small version of stoke on trent in the snow!!!!
Hi Mel - Ali is tucked up in bed after performing various voodoo treatments to her twisted knee. (She has a paragliding holiday in Morocco booked for next week and needs her legs as an undercarriage.) Nevertheless we had a great holiday last week in Bansko. We probably wont be back next year, but only because there are other places to explore. Not sure where to try next.
Good to hear from you Mel - glad you had a good week.
We did have a good week despite my injury and the at times ropey conditions but think we need somewhere with more variety now.But I think I'll go and learn boarding indoors this summer - I've heard it's easier on the knees as I'm prone to buggering mine -although I'll probably just break my wrists instead
Mel I've got lots of padding there so I'm sure it'd be fine !
Yes - the kids are absolutely brill - they both did the tomba run this year - for Max it was his first time snowboarding.
The cheap deal was with ski world - it was the week just before Christmas which is apparently notoriously good for cheap deals as I guess it's hard for most people to take time off then as well as over the holidays but I just came back & worked Christmas Day & Boxing Day.
We booked about six weeks ...

We booked about six weeks before we went - I don't think the deals got much better nearer the time than we got but because conditions were so good they advised us that stuff was going quicky but it pays to keep you eye on a couple of different websites for a while before you book.
Just google cheap ski holidays and they all come up.
Also be a bit wary of booking lift hire and passes with the tour operator as they can be cheaper done yourself over the internet - just takes a bit of time browsing to find the best deal but definately can be done.We got a family lift pass which worked out cheaper but the holiday company didn't have the capability to sell us that - it was only available direct from the lift operator.
