ALL lifts now running in Bansko!!

12 out of 12 ski lifts are now in operation in Bansko!! You see, even the locals are so confident of the forthcoming snow that they decided to open the last lift - wooohooo!! Is it obvious that i'm getting really excited??

Take a look at camera 2 on banskoski.com. There is hardly any wind to speak of and yet the temperature has dropped to -8.2'c already. Those chaps skiing in the picture must be lost - hope they have their GPS's with them today - looks like they are skiing in the clouds today!!

hi, im going to bansko in Feb at half term! first time in BG, so looking forward to it, bit worried about snow but i cant help that, when i was looking at the old piste map, there was a long red run down the right hand side of the mountain, could you tell me what that is like and if its still working?? thanks very much

Sorry Charles, this is going to be my first time to bansko. I have only ever been to Pamporovo so I can't help you. However, I will be sure to let you know upon my return - 26th Jan.

The long red on the right of the piste map is closed until further notice. The lift is extremely steep in places and kept breaking down - also there is a high risk of avalanches on that bit.

Our instructor last year said it had been a bit of a mistake building it but they were looking into opening it sometime in the future, but not for a few years.
