ATM vs Exchange Kiosk

Hey everyone. Wonder if anyone knows about this?
I've heard a few people recommend taking sterling and changing to Lv in resort.
Has anybody ever checked the rates available at kiosks to the rate you get at an ATM? I always thought that even after the 1% typically charged by banks the rate you'd get at ATMs is better than at the kiosks. (you can tell by comparing the difference in "Buy" and "Sell" prices then dividing by 2 - if they quote them).
Sorry - I have asked this on another thread but I thought it deserved its own as it could be useful to a lot of us!

Thanks,

re: ATM vs Exchange Kiosk

forget Kiosks it has been known for them to rip you off. Ask the one in Bansko where they advertised 2.2 lev to the £ then worked out on a calculator that £100 was 200 leva.

Easy to spot with an 8ft sign outside their door.

As I left last year they found that their 6ft sign had ended up in the booth. the door is approx 6ft 6

Never had issues with ATMs meself. Why take the risk taking a lump of cash with you when you can generaly use ATMs as easy as at home, and just take out what you need when you need.

Thanks for these replies - but I'm interested in which gives the best rate - and if anyone's ever compared at the two, at the same time?
