Advice for a newbie looking at Pampy!

Hello everyone Very Happy
I am wanting to book my first boarding holiday to Papmy.
Basically I am looking to book a week at Hotel Orlovets.
I would like some advice on a few things -
What would be the best time for me to go to get the best snow! Bit of a loaded question and I know you can never guarantee when the snow is going to fall, but of you were booking when would you go? Currently I am thinking late Feb.

Hello everyone Very Happy
I am wanting to book my first boarding holiday to Papmy.
Basically I am looking to book a week at Hotel Orlovets.

What would be the best time for me to go to get the best snow! Bit of a loaded question and I know you can never guarantee when the snow is going to fall, but of you were booking when would you go? Currently I am thinking late Feb.

I can get a deal with Thomson Ski for one week half board at Orlovets and flights from gatwick and transfers.... But it's the transfers that are putting me off! But the cost is £380 each which seems like a reasonable deal to me. If I book now I can also get 2 for one on the lift passes and board/bindings/boots....

I would rather sort my own flights with ryanair to the other airfield so I have a 90 min transfer!! I can get the flights for £180 for the pair of us return... do you think I could pay for the transfers and Orlovets hotel (half board) for around £200? I am thinking no.... but would be interested to hear your thoughts.

I have also heard that there may be some issues with busses to the ski lifts this year. Anyone got any info on this??

What should I be expecting to pay for lift passes and board/boots hire and a few lessons? (Already having lessons at a real snow centre here and loving it!).

My other half has skied loads and she has been to all the usual spots - italy, switzerland, france, austria etc.. She knows Pampy is likely to be quite different to these, and knows I wouldn't like the suck up lot that would be in france lol so she is looking forward to Pampy.... I just hope it doesn't disappoint! As she is also a beginner on a snowboard do you think we will both find it challenging enough, and not get bored too quick! I have read a few reports about there only being a few ski runs.

Any other info that anyone thinks would be helpful would be greatly appreciated and I am sure there will be a few more questions that I will have once I give it some more thought

Very Happy

Thanks
Vincent

re: Advice for a newbie looking at Pampy!

You can get a taxi transfer for 80 lev/£40 each way.
It is possible to get a complete pack, eg.

transfer/equipt/pass/lessons for a pretty good price that wont break the bank. Try the Pamp resort website.

Bus to Ski Centre 2 are no problem and for beginners /intermediates there is enough to keep you busy for a week.

Orlovetz is the best Hotel in the resort, very comfortable and well located for the apree, enjoy!

Thanks for the reply! HAving looked into it all, basically if the hotel comes in at around £300 - £400 then it would be around the same as booking with thomson ski. The original prices I mentioned are wrong Confused

It's now also looking like it might be the 1st or 2nd week of march that we go.... hope thats historically a good time for snow there??
