We are a couple with two kids (will be 11 and 9) when we go skiiing next December. We've visited Bulgaria loads of time but always for the sun!
We've decided to go skiiing for the first time over Christmas 2006 and would welcome advice. We were thinking of going to Borovets and staying at either the Iglika or Flora.
Are the hotels any good and what's the ski school like for novices?
Borovets is Ideal location for beginners we have just returned from Borovets on saturday after staying at the hotel Samokov which was great ski school and instructor were excellent had no complaints. We walked passed both the Iglika and Flora have not stayed at them however I can recommend the hotel Rila which we stayed in over christmas 2004
The Iglika is a fantastic little hotel - it's in an ideal location - opposite the Rila and around the corner from the Samokov and I would highly recommend it. You can't go wrong there
Thanks everyone for comments - always nice to hear from people who have been there.
We don't intend doing much other than skiing, eating, drinking and sleeping so the right hotel is important! As seasoned Bulgaria travellers we know what to expect though.
Do ski schools etc still run on Christmas Day? With work etc we'll have to come over Christmas and don't want to miss a day on the snow....
