Advice needed!

We have booked to come to Borovets on the 8th Feb and looking at this snow report http://www.accuweather.com/en/bg/borovets/51072/february-weather/51072?monyr=2/1/2014&view=table - its going to dump a load of snow on our last day. Therefore I am looking at changing our dates to the 22nd Feb (avoiding half term). If you look at the amount of snow that is forecast from w/c 17th on the web link, is this enough snow to open all the slopes????

Thanks in advance!!!

The forecast will have changed a dozen times by then, so you never know.
However, if you have the option to push your holiday back to the 22nd Feb, I definitely would - far more chance of some decent snow by the end of Feb.

Hi Helen,

We are going on 8th February and won't be altering our plans as this is traditionally when the snow is at its best.

Don't even consider relying on snow forecasts over a week ahead as they are about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Hopefully see you on the slopes

re:Advice needed!

Hi Mark, thanks for your reply - we have been twice to Borovets and always the same date so yes the snow has been fantastic in the past. I am just a bit worried at the lack of snow as the slopes that we normally use are all closed. My partner is a beginner so the reds that are open will be a bit too challenging I think.

Can the snow forecast really change that much? I am in such a dilemma and have waited two years for this holiday so not sure what to do.

Yes I agree it looks completely rubbish at the moment but it is nearly 4 weeks till we go so that is a long time yet!

I looked at Meribel this morning which had been suffering with no snow since Christmas and look at it today.. http://www.merinet.com/meribel/webcams/the-3-valleys.html 18cm of fresh snow since last night Surprised

Lets hope the snow works its way to our mountain soon so everyone can stop worrying and have a great skiing holiday

re:Advice needed!

Just like the others have said - the long range forecasts are pretty worthless and you certainly shouldn't base any decisions on them...

The warmer weather is really out of the ordinary - and is bound to change pretty soon - which will bring the snow and more cannon usage.

Keep the faith!

re:Advice needed!

Think you might have trouble changing your dates if you've booked a package!! as most won't alter dates after 29 days to due date without losing the lot, you can do alterations ie name changes etc but not dates Neutral looked into this last week myself for completely different reason than the snow or lack of it . I'm also out on the 8th !
Keep the faith there will be snow soon ...

Hi Helen, It's so frustrating not knowing and waiting so long to get back on skis again!!!! Keep the faith though, and if you can, join some of us on here that partake in the annual snow dance before we head out!!! I'm part of the 23rd Feb rabble that have done the same week for the past few years now. So if you do change dates, I'll be sure to see you in Bobbys through the week anyway!!! Hope it all works out?!! Keep dancing!! Happy dance
