Went to Borovets and had an excellent holiday last year. Stayed in the Rila and part of the experience was being able to ski to the front of your hotel after a long, rewarding day!
Looking to go to Bansko this year and would like advice from anyone who knows of a good hotel that is right next to one of the main gondolas.
the Kemplinski Grand arena is spectacular luxury and right next to the gondola if you can afford it!.
I stayed at the Stratzite ( I think that's how it's spelled) two years ago. Very good standard. Own pool and spa facilities, 4* accomodation. There is a bus service to the lift but it's less than 5 mins walk - uphill in the morning!
The Pirin is supposed to be very good but is further from the gondola. However it is in the centre of Town so that could be an attraction. Bansko is a nice ...

We stayed at THE ORPHEY which is about a 20 minute walk to the lifts - but the walk is through the main town street and it was enjoyable both coming and going from the lifts. An added bonus was that our room was absolulely VAST!!...it was the size of most hotel suites!!
