Advice on buying boots?

Been looking at a new pair of snowboard boots, choice between Burton or Vans. The Vans are more comfy but they have the boa lace up system, has anybody used these type before? Are they any good, have you had any trouble with them i.e. do they snap? Any advice would be a great help thanks.

Dude, you are in the exact situation I was in 3 weeks ago. My final choice was down to Burton Ruler's and Vans Encore (w/Boa system).

I went for the Vans mainly for the comfort. But the Boa system is awesome. 110% gauranteed good time. There used to be some problems with the Boa system but they've sorted it.

The Vans Encore also were excellent for their price, stiffness and looks. Remember the main things to concentrate on are comfort, fit, and minimal heel lift.

Yeah its definitely all about the comfort, some boots will fit better than others. Also depends on your bindings... if you have Burton bindings that have a toe strap I would recommend Burton boots as you will find the boot will sit in the strap perfectly...if u buy another make its possible for the toe strap to ride up and come loose so I'd try the boot in your bindings before you buy

As for the BOA system... My friend has a pair of Vans Fargo and he swears by them, the only complaint he ...

As for the BOA system... My friend has a pair of Vans Fargo and he swears by them, the only complaint he has is that the tightening of the boot is really even e.g. if u wanted your boots tighter at the bottom than the top or visa-versa then its not possible like laces.

ALTHOUGH! I'm pretty sure Vans has fixed that problem this season by having 2 BOA lines, one for the top one for the bottom like the Burton Speed zone lace.
