Advice

Hello all!

Just after some advice really. I'm a bit of a beginner skier and i'm booking my holiday to Borovets over the weekend. I have a few options and i'm not sure which to take:
1. Do i come out on the 2nd jan for just 5 days, staying at the Rila Hotel.
2. Or do i come out on the 28th Jan, for a whole week, which is also a lot cheaper than the 5 day trip?

Plus, I am torn between the Somokov Hotel (i think thats how you spell it) or the Rila Hotel. Any advice?

-go for the week. The extra couple of weeks snow will make conditions better.

-Stay at the Rila.

Hi,

I went borovets last year and stayed just behind the rila (we walked through the rila every morning) it looks like a really nice hotel from what we saw.

I also would go for the full week at the end of jan.

Oh... and we went in the samokov one night for a drink its massive, and just didn't feel as nice as the rila.

hi steve,
stayed at rila many times it's warm and friendly atmosphere are 1st class. Only once in the samakov lets say once is enough.

with regards to which week I recommend 3rd week in jan around the 20th always had plenty of snow.

we stayed in samokov last christmas but the rila looked nicer - also go for the week the snow will be better. we left on 31st december and it hadn't snowed for most of the week so it wasnt so good for the people coming after us.

We all had a great time even though i am rubbish at sking it was so cool

we stay at the rila every year the last week of jan, lovely hotel with great atmosphere. Snow conditions are always great at the end of jan, enjoy and maybe see you there.
