After a 26 year break, the Mens Europa Ski Cup Competition is finally back in wonderful Pamporovo.

More than 70 world class racers from 17 European and Asian States will compete in the most skillful alpine discipline - namely the Mens Ski Slalom. The countries, which have already confirmed participation are Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Italy, Macedonia, Romania, Norway, Switzerland, Slovakia, Sweden, Slovenia, Japan. The race will take place on piste Snezhanka ¹2 ÒHE WALL, which has undergone numerous improvements including a 30 meters broad final finishing zone with grandstands.

Though Pamporovo has hosted 7 European Cup events in the past, the last race of such a scale was back in 1987. With this year’s race the organizer Pamporovo Plc. and the Bulgarian Ski Federation hope to revive the traditions and restore the name of Pamporovo as world class ski resort.

There will be 2 runs each day, the first starting at 10am and the second starting at 1pm. The Wall has already been prepared and will look like a beautiful wedding cake by the time the skiers are ready to go on Sunday.

There is now more than 2.5 meters of snow in resort now, all lifts and drags are working, all pistes are open thus guaranteeing excellent skiing and snowboarding conditions.

I just wish I could be there to see it - even more I wish I was taking part, but then again it may well be dark by the time I got down Razz
