Airport change

I'm off to Pamps on Saturday & my friend who made the booking had a letter from Inghams the other day saying our return flight is now from Sofia instead of Plovdiv.

Anyone else had this? I'm not overly enthused about a 3+ hour journey to the airport (that's why we didn't choose Andorra!) but I s'pose at least it's the return leg.

re: Airport change

Believe me you will be pleased, Sofia is a proper airport as opposed to Plovdiv!

Pleased??? I don't think so! Sofia is a good 3.5 hours transfer to Pamps as opposed to 1.5 from Plovdiv! I know which one I would prefer.

I had this with Inghams the other year on the return leg Kit Kat, I would guess they have done it because they have not sold enough seats on the Plovdiv flight, so makes sense to get you all on the 1 flight from Sofia.

re: Airport change

You get a choice a 90 minute transfer to sit in a brick shed, with the toilets as a hole in the floor (or they were when I went there) and no duty free to talk about, and a very basic snack bar, or a 180 minute transfer with a reasonable duty free, two snack bars, and it's a damn site nicer.

re: Airport change

Yes but by the time you have done the transfer Judith you would have been out of the shed!!

re: Airport change

Only my opinion, but having now done both I am looking to book for Sofia next year. Also they have now opened a new terminal building at Sofia.
Prefer a longer transfer than all that waiting about, pushing and fighting with nowhere to sit, get a drink or anything to drink.
But as I said, its only my opinion.
