Can anyone offer any advice on Sofia airport? As ive only been thru the wondefull plovdiv airport, which looks like the setting to the turkish airport in midnight run, i was wondering about the quality of Sofia aiport. Is it an airport in the british sense with shops and bars or is it like Plovdiv with disused military aircraft scattered around?
any advice would be greatfully recieved.
(this excludes you Nev, keep your dirty kebab face out of it)
Not been to Sofia, but Plovdiv is a military airport which is only used to bring in skiers in the winter and not used commercially for any other purpose that is why there are no facilities, I would think Sofia being a proper airport would have some facilities.
Compared to Plovdiv Airport, Sofia is a mecca!! Fairly decent duty free last time I was there - Summer 03. Should find everything you need there. Only downside is 4 hour transfer to Pamps. At least with Plovdiv - its only 1 1/2 hours so it has its compensations to fly to Plov.
