Vincent Tan, CCFC Chairman has announced tonight sweeping changes to the club for next season. Many of which are not to the liking of thousands of fans.
Gone are the Cardiff Blues Rugby Club who are returing to the Arms Park and the stadium will now be renamed The Cardiff City Stadium with only football being played there. The Bluebirds nickname and badge will go and Cardiff City will change their colours to Red shirts Black shorts. The Bluebirds badge will be replaced by a Red Dragon. The stadium is to be expanded to seat 35,000 from the current capacity of 26,000. (This will be done for the start of the 2013/14 season.) New training facilities will be built and an investment of £100,000,000 will be made by the Malaysians to strengthen the team in an attempt to gain Premiership Football by the end of next season.
An EGM was held tonight at the Stadium and fanbase representitives who were invited were far from happy about losing the Bluebirds history and colours.
You may think this is a wind-up but it is completely and utterly true.
Anyone want to buy a blue and white scarf let me know
Sorry if you feel I've hijacked the board a little here, but I know many CCFC supporters read this board regularly.
Not a cardiff fan but must admit don't like a lot of the changes going on in football that means a club looses it's history or heritage for pure financial gain. I guess that is the idea behind it a rebranding but it sucks. Cardiff Blues rugby i believe have returned to the arms park because they were not getting the crowds to make it financially viable to stay.
Pete, big changes indeed,i work with loads of city supporters and getting a mixed reaction,i do feel sorry though for one of my mates who has just had a bluebirds tatoo, wats your feelings Pete
After all the seasons of nearly making it to the top flight i guess changes were inevitable but stripping the club of all its history is a huge mistake. However the Blues returning to the Arms Park is great news, they should never have left.
And you still won't win the play offs............
Isn't red supposed to be lucky in China and aren't teams that play in red more succesful according to the stats? I've heard of 'lucky pants' and all that but this is going just a bit too far.
Joking aside it is a bit side really
