Right then guys and girls, like the rest of you who are due out at the weekend I would like more snow.
HOWEVER, there is still enough to enjoy the week as it is. This will be my 3rd year running to Bansko in January and have so far enjoyed decent skiing every day. This first year the ski road wasn't open, but certainly didn't detract from a great week, fresh snow fell on the 2nd night I think (though not forcast I seem to remember). This first year the ski road wasn't open, but certainly didn't detract from a great week, fresh snow fell on the 2nd night I think (though not forcast I seem to remember). Second week the ski road was open, but we didn't get much new snow for the whole week, blue sky days all the way, the skiing was fantastic.
Most of the slopes seem in an ok state at the mo, maybe around Shiligarnika could use some more, but will plenty to have a blast for everyone, and loads of cannons doing their best.
So, try not to worry, no amount of worrying will bring more snow, it's unfortunate, but that's life this year I'm afraid. You can check forcasts all you like, but a foot of snow could happen overnight, or we could get no more. At the end of the day, we are going for a holiday, no work, no hastles from home, let's just make the best of it. I've been to Antigua and we were hit with a hurricane, did it ruin the holiday? No chance, it's not the resorts fault. Not everyone is lucky enough to be going on any holiday, at least we all get away for a while.
