Also just back

Well we arrived back yesterday after a great week. I totally disagree with the comments from Biff. This was my first time with my mate and found the people to be helpful and couldn't do enough for you! Granted there are the mithering bods outside the bars but just politely say no thanks or go in and have a drink. Two girls on and we felt very safe.

We stayed at the Royal Borovets and the general manager Crum went out of his way for all his guests, he even personally drove us to get our boots (we bought instead of hire). We were a little dubious at first but throughout the week it became very apparant he was like this with everyone and enjoyed helping people!

The ski instruction was very good and after day 3 we were at the top of the mountain on the blue runs. We were also with an accomplished skiier and he found all the runs to be fine and enjoyed it very much.

Holidays are what you make of them and I really can't understand people posting such negative information. If you have a tongue in your head the locals will help you as much as they can.

If you are going without a ski pack then visit Alex 2000 opposite the Samakov Hotel and he will do a deal for you, don't go to the ticket office at the Gondola. It's not as cheap as a package obviously but then that's the risk you take as a first timer!!!! We paid about £60.00 for the ski pass for 6 days, bought boots for £100.00, but at least we have them for good.

Food - The chinese is very good, large portions, the Alpin is a good all round bar which is very clean and obviously has more money in it than others. The Central near Alex 2000 is also good, alot of the local instructors go in there. Joy at the bottom of the Gondola does lovely Pizza and we loved the Shopska salad which you will love if you like cheese!

So all in all no broken limbs, great food and service and good flights. The snow was fantastic the last couple of days and it you are heading out there next week you are in for a really good time.

What more could you want?

Is it the Royal Hotel you stayed in? If so do the rooms have kettles so I can bring my hot water bottle? Also there are a few other questions I would like to ask you.

re: Also just back

Hi ya

The rooms don't have kettles but I don't think you'll need your hot water bottle!!! The rooms are pretty warm. We had a larger room and it had two storage heater type things and also a small plug in one.

The bathrooms have nice towel heaters in them and the towels were changed every day and the beds made.

Let me know what else you want to know and I'll do my best!!
