You all seem like experts on the Bulgaria from what I have read. I am off out to Borovets staying at the Ela on Feb 21st for a week. The trouble is one of my mates who is coming skiing, went on a learn to ski in a day and ended up breaking a bone in his hand. I know that there is 5 ½ weeks to go. Hopefully he will be fine by then. But are there any suggestion as to what he could get upto in the daytime apart from drinking. As plenty of that will be done anyway.
Thanks ...
Hello Again
You all seem like experts on the Bulgaria from what I have read. I am off out to Borovets staying at the Ela on Feb 21st for a week. The trouble is one of my mates who is coming skiing, went on a learn to ski in a day and ended up breaking a bone in his hand. I know that there is 5 ½ weeks to go. Hopefully he will be fine by then. But are there any suggestion as to what he could get upto in the daytime apart from drinking. As plenty of that will be done anyway.
Thanks again for your help

There's an ice rink, a gym and pool in the Rila, a bowling alley in the Samakov and numerous trails for walking.
If he's not that active, then he may be stuck with satelite TV and whatever books he takes.
I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of, however I'm pretty sure that after 5 weeks his hand will feel ok and you won't be able to keep him off skis.

My friend fell over on the first day last year and fractured her wrist. After four days of reading everyones books and sitting in the sunshine at the moutain restaurants she was fed up. She went back to the docs, got a proper plaster cast put on it (as they only put a soft plaster on it at first, traded her ski's in for blades (as you don't need poles) and joined us!
You mean they supplied a proper!!!! plaster cast. Not our experience last year. The plaster seemed to very old fashioned, no soft lining before putting it on. Must be better equiped in the mountains than the beach resorts!
