is there any news yet about the lifts being opened tomorrow (1 Dec). I know that there is a thread lower down on this very topic but I am just ITCHING to know if I can ski tomorrow or is back to the farmer's fields of Vitosha again!
How good is Vitosha? Ive just about convinced my missus to do a weekend trip March/ april time and reckon, cheap flight to sofia, couple of nights hotel in sofia, skiing at Vitosha for me, shopping in sofia for her, what do you think?
Vitosha isnt really a resort - it is just somewhere for the residents of Sofia to go skiing. There are a couple of runs, one of which is quite long if the whole length of the cable car is working (sometimes the top section is closed if it is wind up there).
Vitosha is useful to go and stretch your legs if you live in the area but you should not really make a special trip to go skiing there. Certainly combined with a city break in Sofia it would be a nice idea and it can be reasonably ...

It is also easy to get to, just a few lev taxi ride form the centre of town to Simeonovo where the Cabin Lift starts.
iv just been up there this morning and had a few good runs under the gondola and back up, but none of the other lifts are open until next fri/sat/sun depending on who you ask! im going back up tomo for a hike and ride above aleko level
