re: Anyone back from Pamporovo this weekend Any Good?
Hi Doug ! - Main changes you'll notice is that they are building very large apartment blocks everywhere around the place, and especially up at the mid station, which may well lead to overcrowding problems in due course unless they expand the lift systems and ski areas !
We've been many times now and love the country and Pamp's itself, and Hey ! - You'll not get better value anywhere that's for sure.

Stayed at the Hotel Pamporovo again in January, and was pleased to see that, for once, the owners have not only maintained it well but have upgraded to a degree so you'll have a great time anyway, whatever the snow conditions !

Hi! Just back from Pamps today. The skiing was great for a couple of days after Tuesday's snow...but there was far too little snow for any long term improvement. With the high temperatures Stoudents has become a mud bath with deep pools best suited for waterskiing! Both main routes back to ski depot 2 involve taking your skis off for a walk through the mud...either on the green run or at the bottom of the 3 man lift. Both main routes back to ski depot 2 involve taking your skis off for a walk through the mud...either on the green run or at the bottom of the 3 man lift. Although yesterday we did manage to ski all the way to the depot on the red/black runs...with a little scrambling over the rocks and mud.
However on a more postive note, there is still good snow at the top of the mountain on the reds and blues.
We had a great time, but anyone going out now needs to start praying for snow!

Thanks Big Tone and Kev... Oh well a week in Hotel Pamporovo without ski-ing wont be too bad I'm sure, I was worried whether they might not have maintained its standard since it was built as it used to be very nice inside......We can pray for snow, but this year its been so bad in Bulgaria, makes you wonder what there going to do with all the apartments they are building, surely people wont buy them if the snow doesn't fall out there any more?
re: Anyone back from Pamporovo this weekend Any Good?
This has been the worst year for 20 years, last year was a fantastic year and there was skiing available until the end of march, I think you will find it is a freak year
re: Anyone back from Pamporovo this weekend Any Good?
It seems you are an experience skier Doug and should have no problem navigating all runs down to half way stage. All our group of novices were managing blues and reds at the end of this wk and conditions at the top are still good. If you do get another good dump before you go things will obviously be better - but if not you'll still be skiing

Just got back yesterday and the snow is all but gone, so hope you get some soon. The red runs are ok then we got snow on Tuesday and that helped but that was it and its now mud on the green's and around the lifts. If you take your own skis take old ones. Hotel Pamp I thought was the same but maybe the food was a little warmer!
