April Skiing

Hi

Can anyone advise on the likelhood of good skiing in April in Pamporovo, or elsehwere in Bulgaria. This would be for Easter 07

An initial look at the webcam archive shows limited Snow coverage.

aprils not that good, easters quiet late this year so you could be risking no snow or very little, dont think any of the tour ops do holidays there at that time of the year, tends to be a good indicator if they could make money out of it they would,

Huge risk --- 20% chance of enough snow to ski on I would guess.

Easter is 2 weeks earlier this year than last year?...

You sould still be OK for skiing in Bansko then, although the ski road may not be open at that time (although it was this year).

Skiing in Borovets is fine at Easter, we went last year and stayed in Goverdartsi at the Iskar hotel and chalets and had a great time. The snow from the gondola station in Borovets was as good as anywhere else that I've been in Europe at that time of the year. It's still pretty chilly up top and the snow does get a bit mushy after 2pm but that's normal wherever you go

the web cam is at the very bottom of the Pamps slopes so less snow cover. on the top its still ok-ish but it gets slushy in the day as Pamps is so so so sunny!

Thanks to all for your help

The vagaries of small children and school holidays mean its better to go on Holiday.

We think we'll brave the conditions and go for a good hotel.
We'll let you know how it goes
