Just concocted email as though it's from country boss of oil company and sent it to everyone on rig, saying that there's a yearly bonus and you have to send him a short email to say when you started working down here so that they can work out who will qualify for said bonus.Really hope someone falls for it.

Excellent one in the papers this morning about BMW doing a GPS type of thing to activate your home microwave whilst driving and even being able to adjust the timer if you get stuck in a traffic jam. I suppose you men call that the mobile phone and wife!!!Also, Ryanair doing free flights for kids - if they can hang on with a picture of a kid hanging on to the front windscreen. Valid today only.

Power failures at Television Centre (TVC) will be a thing of the past once an innovative new electrical backup system comes on stream later this year.
The News department have been working closely with the BBC’s environment team on the scheme, which was developed in the wake of the power cuts that disrupted output from TVC last November and December.
To ensure that power supplies remain uninterrupted, exercise bikes in the TVC gym will be fitted with dynamos supplying standby power ...

The News department have been working closely with the BBC’s environment team on the scheme, which was developed in the wake of the power cuts that disrupted output from TVC last November and December.
To ensure that power supplies remain uninterrupted, exercise bikes in the TVC gym will be fitted with dynamos supplying standby power cables feeding directly into news studios N8 (used by News 24) and N6 (used for the main news bulletins).
Director of news Richard Sambrook said: ‘If there’s a problem, anyone we can spare in the news operation will be told to run to the gym and start pedalling.’
Light sensors in the main news studios will detect falls in the voltage and trigger a taped message from Mark Byford in the gym saying: ‘Pedal harder. Don’t let the lights dim on BBC news! Audiences drive what we do. They’re at the wheel, you’re on the pedals – and it’s time to work that bit harder for them!’
Sambrook added: ‘It’s a great system that combines our love of news for with a long term aim to improve our environmental track-record. It’s amazing nobody thought of it earlier.’
The management is also looking into the possibility of filling the TVC bar with similarly equipped exercise bikes and turning it into an emergency power generation plant that could serve other areas of BBC News.
