I think so. Its like when I play tennis. I blame my racket but really it is me that is rubbish.

Unfortunately you need snow with enough space to stand on in order to learn to ski - anyone in Bansko on Christmas eve who was a brand new skiier weaving through toddlers on toboggans, dogs, ancient communists and various shell suits conglomerated around the lifts and liberally scattered on the one and only nursery slope will have had only a very small experience of actually learning to ski.
