Fantastic holiday, great food, lovely people (a few dodgy looking locals in the Rila bar). Snowed all day Saturday and still going when we left yesterday morning, in fact was even snowing in Sofia!! The Happy Duck Chinnese is fantastic, lots of food for your money. Also please do try The Green King which is just up from the taxi rank in front of the Samokov Hotel. The owner speaks great english and will happily go through the menu with you (I recommend the Chicken Medallion). Also they have a good range of wine at good prices, some that Tesco will be selling from next year apparantly. I had a full body massage in the Samokov including facial for 30 leva - book early though to avoid disappointment. Also a must try the hot chocolate and brandy!!
