Austrian similarities to Pamps

Have been past 2 years to Pamps and loved it but was thinking of trying Austria nxt yr.I am a nervous skier but my 3 teenagers are good.Can anyone recommend a friendly,good value resort with a good mixture of slopes.re: Austrian similarities to Pamps
My first ski holiday was Les Arcs in france and the variation of slopes for all levels was awesomere: Austrian similarities to Pamps
I've been to Zell em Zee. Good slopes for all abilities although you have to catch ski buses to get to them. Town is lively enough for teenagers. Added bonus is that you can bus to Kaprun glacier if snow cover is poor on lower slopes. Not sure about prices etc as this was a few years ago.

Schladming... been there three times with beginners and intermediates. Never been disappointed. Start out on Hochwurzen mountain and then move on to Planai for more variety. Whole area has great links, good character and lovely scenery.

Hi Marrianne,Went to Mayrhofen last year, so good we are going back again next month. Has several different areas. It does have a lot of similarites with Pamps as there are a lot of trees and the mountains are very scenic.

Just returned from Soll in Austria.
Great for Beginners and Intermediates.
It,s part of the Ski Welt region so you have approx 280 Kms of piste's. With appox 1,000 cannons for snow making, skiiing is almost guaranteed, The ski Schools are very good, the mountain restuarnt/bar prices are about the same as the UK at the moment (week pound v Euro).
Soll is also about the cheapest place to ski in Austria for ski hire etc.
We went with Airtours and pre booked the ...

Apre ski great, night life lively.
We enjoyed Soll just as much as Pamps, but with all the bad/negative report coming out of Pamps, I think i will be choosing Soll before Pamps in future.

Soll- skied there many times- interconected ski welt area covers quite a few other linked resorts- was the Lager lout capital in the 80s, not bad now but livley (is the Whisky Mhuel night club still going?!)- Kaprun quite good-St Johan is one of my favs though- not big but plenty of intermediate skiing (to door at some hotel)- really pleasent charming resort with good ski school.
Kitzbuhel is quite busy and has good skiing as well as St Anton (expesive though!)
