shocking accident, she must be very badly injured from the look of that impact. i can't see a helmut being worn .. bg i guess. hope she is being well looked after and hope for a full recovery.
I am very sorry to hear about this and having seen the video and the fact that it is a Zip line concerns me. I am arranging a trip to Pamps in Nov which was going to include a zip wire activity. Please could you tell me where it happened.
The one we have in mind is at the 'Wonderful Bridges' spot past Chepalare, but this unfortunate mistake, highlights the vast gulf between our Health and safety practices and that of Bulgaria. I wish Amanda a speedy recovery.
I would like to Introduce myself my name is Azaria Amanda's is my Step Mum. I happened to witness the whole awful thing. It happened on the road between Pamporovo and Smolyn where the new climbing wall is located. This was human error and pure negligence. The organisers did not attach the safety rope to control the zip wire, this meant that she could not be slowed down to the usual speed or gently stopped. It happened on the road between Pamporovo and Smolyn where the new climbing wall is located. This was human error and pure negligence. The organisers did not attach the safety rope to control the zip wire, this meant that she could not be slowed down to the usual speed or gently stopped. One of the reasons I write is by way of warning. The crew had not paid the insurance for two months, leaving my family to pay the ongoing medical bills ect. Amanda’s insurance also did not cover her for extreme sports. Please ask to see the fully paid insurance certificate before trying anything of this nature in Bulgaria. Amanda is very sick and has both legs in plaster, she takes strong medication, she has suffered severe trauma to the spine. We a just lucky it was not more serious. Given time to heal Amanda will make a full recovery. This could happen on any zip slide in Bulgaria. As A result, his crew will hopefully double check every time. Amanda sends her thanks to everyone that has been so kind as to inquire about her well being.
Thank you for the update, and I also believe her injuries could have been even worse.
Your insurance warning is also much appreciated.

Hello Azaria,
Thank you for the update, and I also believe her injuries could have been even worse.
Your insurance warning is also much appreciated.
As a paraglider pilot, I am very aware of the importance of holiday insurance for my sport when holidaying in Bulgaria or elsewhere abroad due to some people in the past having had accidents without proper insurance.
You will find most general policies exclude "extreme sports" and you have to pay often substantially more with specialist companies to be properly covered. Things like quad biking and any type of climbing are excluded. sometimes even "off piste" skiing is excluded as well.
Azaria, Thanks for the warning, Please Please please could you pass on our best wishes, and we hope Amanda has a speedy recovery
