we are boked to fly Sunday 16th Jan (was 13.30hrs)- just had an e mail today saying the flight is now 15.00hrs- changes to in bound too- not too bad, similar to a few yeas ago, but will probably expect another in a few weeks saying we are second stop Via Edinburgh and dropping off there first on return- suggesting they couldnt fill a whole plane fom Newcstle. (dont know why as only airline from Newcastle to Bulgaria in Winter).
yep- its getting closer!
i Know Pete- have had previous experience of it!- the e mail didnt say it was because of picking up at Edinburgh but i expect a future letter will confirm it!
Never mind- been there know what to expect!
Just hope there are not added on costs due to these flight surcharges!
You don't usually get extra charges. They can sometimes cancel flight and put you on one at an airport miles away from where you are ie london, EMA or birmingham..
Had this happen couple times. Having said that bookings are up on last year so hopefully all be ok.
I think Ian was refering to the added levy that the British Government have put onto air travel.
I think this is only added to flights booked after 1st Nov 2010 (but I may be wrong on that.)
The increase in Air Passenger Duty costs to Bulgarian flights will only be a rise of £1 (from the current £11 to £12) as the distance is less than 2,000 miles. That's if you are flying Economy class which the bulk of us will be.
Well past experience with Balkan -we have twice been a second pick up after Edinburgh and once had to pick up a East Midlands- never Manchester (yet)- mayby this year- shall wait and see!
Hi Ian
Either the first or second year they started to join pick up airports it was with Manchester, has also joined with East Midlands, Humberside & Edinburgh that I know of. Also been lucky in fact as always been 2nd pick up so gone straight to Bulgaria and return was always start of Half term so plane was just for Newcatle on return due to amount going out (I presume) so good time to go can be weekend before half term
